Lichfield Ahead after First Round v Limburg

After the Lichfield stage of the judging, the club has a healthy lead in this year's annual competition with Limburg on the theme of "Reflections".   We await the verdict of the German judge to see who wins the overall competition.

Top Tip

Thoughts of the week by documentary and candid wedding photographer Kevin Mullins:

“Create a pictorial legacy, something that will have meaning in future years.”

“A picture doesn’t always have to be good, it has to be important (to those who take and view the image)”

“There are only three parameters that are important in any genre of photography: light, composition and moment. It is often very difficult to get all three factors right all the time but the most important of these is moment.”

Want to improve your photography? Read about how these members benefited from joining Lichfield Camera Club:

"I had always been interested in photography but realised that I needed to get beyond the basics if I wanted to improve the quality of my images.  Joining the club was a game changer. By entering competitions and getting feedback from judges and other members my awareness of what makes a good image was taken to another level.  I also enjoyed the friendly atmosphere and the chance to learn new techniques from more experienced photographers."

''I joined Lichfield Camera Club  after my youngest child left school to go to uni.  I needed something to hold my interest and give me reason.  Since then, starting with no camera knowledge, I feel that I have learned a lot of new things, moved forwards with my photography , made great friends and camera club has become a social evening as well as a learning curve.''
